Therapy

Congratulations you selfish, insecure bastard.
You found the perfect way to kill me and our friendship.
You showed all the restraint of an unrepentant heroin addict,
And destroyed what we’ve spent time building together.
I hope you’re pleased with yourself.

What you’ve done can never be taken back,
And you seem incapable of making things right.
Underneath your ornate explanations,
One thing is noticeably absent.
Remorse.

You never said you were sorry.
Your arrogance doesn’t allow for regret.
A few nights of mischief,
Is worth trading a friendship for,
In your amazingly self-absorbed soul.

We’ve always said that we were a lot alike,
And I’m not about to deny that.
Our foremost difference is loyalty.
I serve others to the detriment of my own agenda.
You’re loyal to no one but yourself.
Perhaps yours is the better way to live,
But I will never understand such self centeredness.

Congratulations you selfish, insecure bastard.
I hope you’re pleased with yourself.
