So I’ve been drinking this biodynamic coffee. It was on sale at Amazon and I’m a fan of organic farming, so I thought I’d give it a shot. It’s pretty delicious and I feel good about helping out small farms. However, some of the concepts behind biodynamic farming are completely ridiculous. Here are two of my favorites (according to Wikipedia):

This was an interesting announcement. Naturally, Salon went deeper and did a better job with the story. She’s made her money already, but I’m sure Warner Bros. is less than pleased with her revelation. There are plenty of conservative parents that won’t let their kids see a movie with gay character in it. Then again, he dies in the next one so maybe they’ll be all for it (*kidding*).
That aside, it was nice to hear that Harry and Ron are aurors, Ginny was a pro Quidditch player, Neville gets laid, etc.
For the record, Richard Harris was a much better Dumbledore than Michael Gambon.
Tech, Chinese Kids, and a Job

I’ve been playing around with Ooma for the last three days. While it would be far more excellent to play around with Uma, this is pretty good too. I was able to get into the beta program (which conveniently gives them an ATA line), but it has been surprisingly cool playing around with the gear. The call quality is tremendous, US calling is free, and the international rates are really low. The device/service isn’t really something I need personally, as I have plenty of other VoIP solutions I use. But VoIP is something of a hobby of mine and I was able to get the box for free. More importantly, I’ve been worrying about how Noot will be able to call her family and friends when she lives here, since I use my PC to call Asia and that would be difficult for her. Some beta problems aside, this would be perfect for her if it eventually works the way it’s supposed to. It would also be outstanding for my parents.
Rannie and I spoke to a bunch of Chinese high-school kids today about careers in gaming. It was fun. Their English was a bit limited, but I hope they got the message about turning a hobby into a career. Some of the kids were adorable and there was this one young boy with the best Chinese mullet I’ve seen since Big Trouble in Little China.
Down Cycles
Posted in feelings on 2 October 2007 by R.PadMonday was a pretty crap Monday. I just needed it to rain and have my dog (if I had a dog) get hit by a car.
