The Rise of Claudio is Upon Us

Posted in sports stuff on 31 August 2006 by R.Pad

My favoritest indy wrestler, the amazing Claudio Castagnoli, was on Raw this week. Yeah, he only had a bit part as a security guard, but it’s a sign of things to come. He’s going to be bigger than Hogan, Austin, and The Rock put together. He just totally rules. Hopefully WWE has the wisdom to bring back his evil Swiss banker gimmick. I mean, the finishing moves are just hilarious. Check out some of Claudio’s arsenal:

The Ricola Bomb

The Neutralizer

The Swiss Sleeperholding

With moves like these and his “heeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyy” gimmick, he’s destined to ascend to the top of the wrestling world.

Carl Pavano is an Idiot

This guy is such a waste of money. Tool. Before he got into an accident he didn’t tell the team about, he had a lovely assortment of injuries.

“Pavano, who hasn’t played in the major leagues since June 27, 2005, due to shoulder, back, buttocks and elbow injuries, is scheduled for a medical checkup Tuesday and remains on track to make his final rehabilitation start Wednesday for Triple-A Columbus at Durham.”

I love that he injured his ass too. He should have lied about that injury instead of the car accident. At least an auto wreck is manly. Injuring your ass and not being able to through a baseball? That’s a little ghey.

I Am Rod Tidwell

I Make Miracles Happen.”

So I’m at SFO, waiting for my flight to Seattle. An opportunity was mentioned on Friday, I got a frantic call on Monday, and here I am, trekking to Redmond.

It’s funny. I was getting so despondent about making things work out. I was really at the end of my rope (mostly because I lack patience) and now I have two really big opportunities (thanks to one excellent human being). I just needed a chance and now I have it. And I fully intend to make the most out of it.

Zoe, Ben, Rannie, Justin, and Kit had more faith in me than I did over the last six weeks. That’s because I forgot who I was. I mean, this is what I do!!! I make unusual (sometimes crazy) things work out for me. I forgot that I like totally rock at doing this. I’m not saying it’s all there now, but I have a chance. To quote Michael Keaton in Gung Ho, “Let’s Rock!” Oh wait, I already have a movie quote. I make miracles happen!

B.B nearly killed me when she said, “See! I told you to write a book!” You dork.

Worn Me Down

I was just telling b.b that I feel let down by the business. It’s silly and I feel a little ridiculous having the thought. It’s just…I believe in karma. Over the years, I’ve always offered people freelance or references or whatever if they were down on their luck. If I knew you and liked you AND your website/magazine went under, chances are I tried to help you out with work or more. I’ve done that for a lot of people over the years. I was hoping the karmic goodness would add up with someone giving me a job that would help make my dream come true. It’s not happening and I feel disappointed in the business (mostly because I can’t figure out a person to be disappointed in). So next time I get a job, f*ck it, I’m not helping anyone unless it furthers my own goals.

“Tres Brrrrr” or “Oh Donna”

I went downtown for some exploratory meetings and to pester friends that were trying to work. I totally forgot that San Francisco has like 19 microclimates. It was sunny and warm in Potrero Hill. When I got off the bus in the middle of downtown SF, I was all, “Brrrrr!!!”

In movie news, you’ve seen La Bamba. You’ve probably seen La Bamba Goes to School. Get ready for La Bamba Goes to Jail!!!

Heeeeeee!!!

It’s a bid sad how giddy I get when I receive international drunk dials. It was 9:30AM over there and she was hammered from a crazy karaoke night. Hmmmmm, I haven’t had one of those in a long time. Kit!!! Make it happen.

I was supposed to go to two parties last weekend–one at Shane’s on Friday and one at Melody’s on Saturday. I got way drunk at Shane’s and spent all of Saturday recovering. Oops. Here are some pics. Karen has sexy calf muscles.

I sure do have a lot of pictures from 2004. Here are three more sets.

Drunken San Francisco press event in January 2004 (I think it was for Driv3r)

Party at Shane’s House June 2004 (I think it was for Gifford)

Silly Fun in San Diego (I know it was for Midway)
