Broken Promises

Posted in pictures, travel on 30 May 2006 by R.Pad

Ugh. I did something I'd swear I'd never do. I'm disappointed in myself, but I didn't have any other choice. See, there were two things. 1) I tried out this new laundry place that does pick up and delivery. They didn't do a good job and I didn't like the way my "clean" clothes smelled. 2) I ran out of my beloved Issey Miyake cologne and couldn't find a place in town that carried it. So what did this all add up to??? I purchased a can of Axe body spray to cover up the scent of my "clean" clothes. I looked for other options, but this was the easiest one. I hate, Hate, HATE the commercials for this crap…but here I am spraying away at my clothes.

On the plus side, I found a new laundry place that actually uses dryers instead of hanging the clothes outside (where the dirty traffic air permeates the wet clothing before they iron it in). They do a much better job.

And also, here are some pictures for you

I Had a Dream

Posted in feelings on 17 May 2006 by R.Pad

So last night I missed home for the time during this trip. I missed Rannie, Kit, and Ted. I missed Farley’s. I missed my memory-foam mattress and pillow. I missed my comics. I missed blazingly fast Internet speeds. I missed Budda Bar. Most of this was because I broke up with Tuk. It was pretty terrible. It took two hours and it broke my heart. It took her three trips on her motorbike to get everything home and she was crying most of the time. On the upside, the breakup only lasted 22 hours and I feel much better now.

So yeah! My weird dream. I was still hosting Reset, but Zoe was ill and Ruby broke her arm, so my co-host was my friend Jaygee Macapugay. I haven’t seen her since the mid ’90s and I have no idea what made her pop into my head. I Googled her to see what she’s been up to and was pleased to learn she’s making strides as a musical actress. She always had an amazing voice and she was pretty hot to boot. I felt proud that my Pinay sister was doing well for herself. Still, it was totally random though.

Two Rooms

Posted in feelings, pictures, travel on 16 May 2006 by R.Pad

Here are photos of the two rooms I've had in Thailand. This first batch is from the Bella Villa Prima, where I stayed during my last trip. The second batch is from my current room at the LK Metropole. It's in a less touristy area and it's a bit of of walk to catch the southbound baht bus, but there are motorbike taxis right out front so it's really easy to get around. Plus there are more food carts, the room is nicer and cheaper, and I like the gym/pool here better.

I was supposed to break up with Tuk two days ago, but I really suck at breaking up. I still really like her, but I don't think she's really happy with me. I wanted to break up with her this afternoon, but she went out for food shopping and to catch lunch with a bunch of friends. Did I mention that I really suck at this??? It's almost time to go out and my friends all thought I'd be single tonight and wanted to get a little crazy. Even if I do break up with her tonight, I know she'll be on my mind for quite some time…which really sucks because there are some really great girls that think I'm boyfriend material. *sigh* My first Thailand broken heart.

Not at E3

Wow, so this is what not going to E3 is like. I really miss Zoe right now. Life in general is pretty cool. Things with Tuk are normal, which is to say we have really good times and a few weird fights. We understand each other a lot better, but I don't know how much compromising each of us will/can do. When she's happy and I'm happy, it's pretty wonderful. After a fight, it kinda sucks. I suppose that's normal. The whole thing is a great learning experience for me. I understand myself more, what I want in a companion, a little bit about Thai culture, and what living with someone is like. Oh yeah, I changed rooms. Tuk's much happier in our new room. The area is a little less touristy and there are lots more food carts. The room has a kitchen and she's been cooking every day (waking up to the smell of bacon rocks!). Most importantly, we have a VCD player now so she can listen to music and watch music videos. This has made her so much happier and has helped cut down on her drinking. I hope things keep steady. She's a good girl, but she needs to figure out what she wants from her life.

At FLB there are a bunch of new service girls. There quite a cute bunch! I totally have a crush on Ja right now. To help her make some money and to help corrupt her, I tried to get her hammered with eight tequilas and one blowjob (the shot, not the sexual act). The little girl held up pretty well! Check out these pics of the evening
